Dr. Susan Stuart

Dr. Susan Stuart joins Dr. Peter Thomas at The Laser Hemorrhoid Center with 20 years of Board Certified clinical experience with surgery of the rectum and anus.

Dr. Stuart earned her degree in medicine from the University of Maryland and did her residency at Phoenix integrated Surgical Residency (Banner Good Samaritan). She was a clinical assistant professor at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Stuart has been practicing for over 18 years working with the Indian Health Service in New Mexico as well as in Phoenix, AZ.

Dr. Susan Stuart has spent the last 20 years building lasting relationships with her patients and giving them the opportunity to live a healthier pain free life. Through her availability, responsibility, skill, and expertise Dr. Stuart and the Laser Hemorrhoid Center are looking forward to working together to give patients a strong Doctor/Patient relationship that will last a lifetime.

• What are Hemorrhoids

  A precise definition of hemorrhoids does not exist, but they can be described as “cushions” of tissue within the anal canal that contain blood vessels and their surrounding, supporting tissue is made up of muscle and elastic fibers. The anal canal is the last four centimeters through which stool passes as it exits the body. Although most people think hemorrhoids are abnormal, they are present in everyone. It is only when the hemorrhoidal cushions enlarge that hemorrhoids can cause problems and be considered abnormal or a disease.
